Organization description Molde University College -Specialized University in Logistics is located at the small and very scenic city Molde on the Western coast of Norway, with about 25 000 inhabitants, and has approximately 2000 students at two faculties: The Faculty of Economics, Informatics and Social Sciences, and the Faculty of Health Sciences and Social Care. We are the most central higher educational institution in Norway when it comes to offering education within Logistics. Our institution is one of the nine specialized universities in Norway, and offers study programs at Bachelor's, Master's and PhD levels. However, the main language of instruction at the undergraduate (Bachelor's) programs is Norwegian, and except for a limited number of incoming international exchange students each semester, these programs are not open for international applicants seeking admission to obtain a degree. HiMolde does not offer an Introductory Program in Norwegian language and Culture for International Students (IFUS program). At the moment around 160 international students are studying at the international MSc programs; MSc in Logistics, MSc in Event Management, and MSc in Team Sport Management, and the 3 years PhD program in Logistics. The MSc in Logistics (started in 1999), the MSc in Event Management (started in 2010), and the MSc in Team Sport Management (started in 2011) are so far the only international master's programs taught in English at our specialized university. Admission to these 2 years (120 ECTS credits) international MSc programs takes place in the spring semester, where all the programs begin in mid August. We have admission to all the 3 MSc programmes in 2012, and detailed information about admission requirements, application procedures, and application forms for these programmes can be found at our home page www.himolde.no under "International Master's Programmes". For admission in year 2012, the application deadline for international applicants to the MSc program in Logistics, and the MSc program in Event Management expired on 1 February 2012, and it is now too late to apply for these programs. The application deadline for these programs will not be extended any further this spring, even if some international applicants have lost the application deadline. These programs will first be announced again for admission in year 2013, around late October 2012, and the next application deadline will be 1 February 2013. The application deadline for admission in year 2012 for the MSc program in Team Sport Management, was initially also 1 February 2012 for international applicants. The application deadline for international applicants for the MSc program in Team Sport Management has now been extended to 1 April 2012 (last postal deadline), and we are welcoming more applicants with relevant background to apply for admission to this program within the new deadline. Contact person for admission to our international MSc programs: Adviser/ International Coordinator: Ms Ragnhild Brakstad (Email: Ragnhild.Brakstad@himolde.no. Phone: + 47 71 21 41 08). |
