Formal prerequisites To be eligible for admission to a master´s degree of 90 credits (ECTS) it is required that the student has at least completed and passed a Bachelor Degree, cand.mag degree in health science, or an education that is approved as equal. These criteria thus demand that the students must have some knowledge of physiopathology.

In addition two years relevant work experience is required. Relevant work experience can e.g. be: work at different levels within the health- or social services or other preventive or health promoting work. In addition, applicants are also required to have basic knowledge of statistics. For applicants who lack this knowledge, it can be obtained by having participated in and passed the introductory course in statistics given by the Department of Community Medicine each autumn (This course will be given in Norwegian, normally in August before the start of the Master´s degree programme of Public Health).
