| Programme description | Since 1998 the University of Oslo has offered a Master of Philosophy programme in Comparative and International Education. This is a two-years full-time programme located at the Institute for Educational Research. The programme is interdisciplinary and designed to provide post-graduate training for academics in the educational and social sciences as well as in the humanities. The programme offers two areas of specialisation. Students are expected to choose the course matching their intended thesis work. Specialisation area A: Education and Development. The course consists of three parts: 1.Educational policies and the role of donors 2.Culture and language of instruction in developing countries; 3.Higher education in developing countries; Specialisation area B: Education Policy and Planning. The course consists of three parts: 1. Learning, ICT and Economy; 2. Management of Education and Learning; 3. Evaluation of Education. |
