Programme description This Master's degree combines the study of Chinese and Japanese with readings in East Asian and general linguistics. Students will be trained to read primary and secondary sources written in one the East Asian languages (the language of specialization) in both its classical and modern variants. Students wil also be trained in linguistic analysis of this language, both from a general and an East Asian point of view.
Application deadline 1 December for self-financing applicants.
15 April for citizens from the EU/EEA area + citizens from Switzerland.
15 April for Norwegian/Nordic applicants and applicants with permanent Norwegian residence permit.

Formal prerequisites Applicants for Master's Degree Programmes are required to have a minimum of 3 years of study at a recognized university or college beyond the minimum requirements for matriculation at a Norwegian institution of higher education, which means to a level equivalent to a Norwegian Bachelor Degree.
