Programme description The programme focuses on human rights in theory and practice. International human rights are analysed from legal, political and philosophical points of view. Human rights law is approached as a part of public international law at global and regional levels. Different forms and levels of implementation - international, regional, and national as well as legal and political - are examined. Building on a basic knowledge and understanding of the normative and institutional framework, contemporary issues relating to terrorism, religion, ethnicity and women are studied. Attention is also given to the philosophical and political aspects of the human rights system.
