Programme description Computational Science and Engineering is a modern MSc. programme in which advanced computer simulations of challenging topics in the natural sciences and technology are central parts. You will learn to implement state of the art simulators and gain a thorough understanding of the phenomenon being investigated. The course will provide you with in-depth knowledge of mathematical modelling, computational mechanics and physics as well as modern programming techniques. You may choose one of the following two specializations:
  • Computational Science - which focuses on numerical calculations and large simulations of a wide variety of problems in physics, applied mathematics and medicine.
  • Computational mechanics - which focuses on basic understanding, mathematical modelling as well as numerical and experimental investigations of problems in solid (or structural) mechanics and fluid mechanics.
  • Application deadline 1 December for self-financing applicants.
    15 April for citizens from the EU/EEA area + citizens from Switzerland.
    15 April or 15 October for Norwegian/Nordic applicants and applicants with permanent Norwegian residence permit.

    Formal prerequisites The Master's Degree is based on a successfully completed Bachelor's Degree of at least 3 years' duration beyond the minimum requirements for matriculation at a Norwegian institution of higher education.
