Programme description The Programme is a collaboration between the University of Tromsø and the Norwegian Centre for Integrated Care and Telemedicine (NST), which is internationally recognized for its expertise in telemedicine and e-health. Students will have the opportunities to develop professional cooperation with the Centre (NST).

The public health service is a large and complex institution where there is a growing demand for collaboration, coordination and communication by means of modern technology. The Master Progamme is a response to this increase awareness. Graduates who understand both the public healthcare services and modern technologies have the advantage to devise, develop, implement and manage new systems, methods as well as strategies.

The Programme qualifies its graduates to:

1) Promote and introduce telemedicine and e-health services and programmes.

2) Participate in the development of telemedicine and e-health products and services.

3) Apply telemedicine and e-health services in professional healthcare.

4) The Master Programme qualifies for advance research-oriented education.

Formal prerequisites Admission to the 2-year international Master Programme in Telemedicine and E-health:

For the "Health" field of study: a Bachelor's degree in medicine or health-related professional studies (e.g. nursing, biomedical engineering, pharmacy, physiotheraphy, occupational theraphy, community medicine and psychology.)
(The Bachelor degree should contain a minimum of 80 credits in medical or health subjects.)

For the "Technology" field of study: a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
(Applicants for the "Technology" field of study are required to meet the prerequisites essential for admission to the master courses at the Department of Computer Sciences, Faculty of Science and Technology.)
