MSc IN INFORMATION SECURITY
Information technology permeates all aspects of society and has become critical to industry, government, and individual well-being. Securing these vital services and structures and the availability of trustworthy information whenever and wherever it is required has become both an area of intensive research and also of burgeoning commercial activity. A MSc in Information Security will provide you with the knowledge and theoretical background as well as with the requisite skills and attitudes to succeed in this challenging yet eminent field. The programme offers a wide range of courses, both technical moduls and moduls dealing with social, legal and management aspects. The programme has two tracks: technology and management. By the end of the second year of this programme, the students will be proficient, not only in the relevant technology, but also in the social and legal aspects of information security. This involves knowledge in topics like confidentiality, integrity and ease of access to information. Year 1: Crypthography and security mechanisms, Network security, Intrusion detection and prevention, Security management, Biometric authentication, Information warfare, Wireless communication security. Year 2: Research Project Planning, Master’s Thesis, Electives. The laboratories The Norwegian Information Security laboratory consists of professors and scientists widely known for their work in information security. A large number of research students constitute a challenging environment with outstanding expertise. All students have access to up-to-date research laboratories and an excellent working environment. |

Applicants must have a bachelor degree in computer science or a related subject to qualify for admission. The applicants must document that they have at least 10 ECTS credits in mathematics/statistics and at least 60 ECTS credits in computer science subjects. A grade point average (GPA) of C is required.
