Programme description The programme has started as a collaboration between Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and Kathmandu University (KU). NTNU provides teaching and transfer of knowledge and expertise in particular areas of electrical power engineering. Gradually, the complete responsibility of the programme is being transferred to KU.; Locating the education in a developing country will stimulate indigenious graduate education and development of competence in that country, at university, electrical power industry and electricity supply companies. This is a keystone to sustainable development. In addition to Nepal the offer to send participants to this course is given to partners in Africa, Asia and Middle East.

Formal prerequisites Candidates should have a BSc in Electrical Engineering preferably Power Engineering and 2-5 years of experience within relevant areas. ; Applicants to the international MSc programmes must pass either the TOEFL with a minimum paper score of 500 (170 computer based test) or IELTS with a minimum of 5.0.
