Programme description	The studies are specialised within the field of micro and nano systems technology, and are aimed at providing both a general basic competence and a degree of specialised competence required by the micro and nano systems industry. Students from the master course will after a completed course be able to carry out specialised and general tasks related to the field of micro and nano systems technology. Such tasks are: - research and development work in the field of micro and nano technology - production of components and/or systems applying micro technology - quality assurance and test work in development and production. - technical advice work in industry and civil service

NOKUT (Norwegian Agency for Quality Assurance in Education) NOKUT is an independent state body whose purpose is to safeguard and develop the quality of Norwegian higher educational institutions. This is done through evaluation, accreditation and recognition of quality systems, institutions and study programmes. Only courses that are accredited or recognised by NOKUT, or are accredited as a result of the institution's blanket accreditation, have the right to be called "higher education". Formal prerequisites	Students with a background from a 3 year Bachelor course in micro- and nano-technology, or electrical/electronic engineering can qualify for the Master program. Students with a bachelor background in other science and engineering disciplines, such as physics, mechanical engineering, materials science etc. can also be admitted on an individual assessment basis. Additional pre-requisites are mathematics corresponding to "Mathematics III" and Electrostatics/ Electromagnetism. Applicants must document knowledge of English on a level equivalent to Norwegian secondary school examinations. Equivalent education in science and engineering can qualify for admission subject to evaluation on an individual basis.
