Programme description
|
Whilst the program stresses the importance of fundamental financial theory through compulsory courses, students can specialize in a number of applied areas such as investment analysis, risk management, corporate finance and financial derivatives. In addition to the wide range of finance courses the program also includes mandatory and elective courses in micro- and macroeconomics. The overall aim of the program is to offer students a thorough understanding of modern financial theory and its applications. Through the MScFE students will learn to master the technical and quantitative tools that are required to analyze complex financial management problems.

NOKUT (Norwegian Agency for Quality Assurance in Education)
NOKUT is an independent state body whose purpose is to safeguard and develop the quality of Norwegian higher educational institutions. This is done through evaluation, accreditation and recognition of quality systems, institutions and study programmes.
Only courses that are accredited or recognised by NOKUT, or are accredited as a result of the institution's blanket accreditation, have the right to be called "higher education".

Undergraduate degree in Business Administration or related areas OR Undergraduate degree with a substantial amount of quantitative subjects. More deatailed admission requirements are available on the website.GMAT.Applicants who are not native speakers of English may be required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).

Master of Science Candidates should submit the following:A completed application form, the blank copy may be downloaded from the Msc website Official university/college transcripts: copies of transcripts and degrees must be certified as true copies and include an official explanation of the grade scale used. All academic records not in English should be accompanied by a certified English translation. If you have not completed your undergraduate education at the time of sending, send in the most recent transcript.An official and original GMAT test score (copies are not accepted) if applicable: Test results of the GMAT should be sent directly to us. The code of the Norwegian School of Management BI is 0529.An application essay. In the application essay you should explain your ambitions/dreams and how they relate to your choice of the MSc program at our school. This should be 1-2 pages.One passport-size photoImportant note: If you need to apply for a residence permit and you're not from an EEA country, bear in mind that this process takes 2-3 months after you've been admitted to the MSc program.
