| Programme description |
Molde University College, Specialized University in Logistics (HiMolde) is the most central higher educational institution in Norway offering education within Logistics at BSc, MSc and PhD level. HiMolde offers a 2 years international MSc program in Logistics open for both Norwegian students, international students with Individual Funding who are able to document funding of minimum NOK 90 800 per academic year, and a limited number of students under the Quota Scheme recruited from and attached to our collaboration institutions in Africa, Asia and Russia (Only 2 new seats are vacant under the Quota Scheme, HiMolde, for collaboration institutions for admission in 2012). The language of instruction is English.
Logistics deals with the organization of the flow of products, services and information from raw materials to the end user, and is therefore built on a broad spectrum of disciplines, such as economics, information/ communication technology, business administration, organization and management, besides quantitative techniques based on mathematics, operations research and statistics. There are two specializations within the MSc program in Logistics: 1. Industrial Logistics: emphasize the planning of production, transportation, inventory and distribution, and the quantitative and professional tools used. 2. Supply Chain Management - aims at giving the students knowledge and understanding of strategic and managerial processes within firms, and emphasize the problems and solutions associated with the management of logistics activities and inter-organisational issues, like industrial organisation, purchasing and supply management. Graduates from the MSc program in Logistics fulfil the academic requirements to later apply for admission to the 3 years PhD program in Logistics at HiMolde or other relevant PhD programs abroad. |
