Programme description The Master of Science in Marine Coastal Development programme is a two-year international multidisciplinary programme that offers spcialization in four lines of study: (1) Aquaculture which focuses on environmental concerns, integrated aquaculture, design and management of sea farms and aquaculture cybernetics. This study also offers further specialization within Marine aquaculture and aquaculture technology. (2) Fisheries and marine resources which is based on current challenges concerning the value chain in the fisheries and processing of marine resources. This study also offers the following areas of specializations: Processing of marine resources, design of fishing vessels and equipment and analyses of fishing fleet capacity development and environmental impacts. (3) Marine biology and biochemestry will give the students a broad understanding of the biodiversity of marine organisms, including their interaction with the abiotic environment and with other organisms in the marine ecosystem. (4) Envoronmental analysis and environmental technology which offers - beside the title of the specialization - knowledge including environmental management and environmental policy, resource economics, life cycle assessment and eco efficiency. The study also offers a multidisciplinary orientation with further specialization within Environmental analysis, focusing on discharge and effects and Technology in water quality and water cleansing.

Formal prerequisites BSc/BEng degree or equivalent in areas related to marine such as: Marine Technology, Marine Biology, Marine Biochemistry and Aquaculture. English requirements: Applicants should document either a TOEFL test with a minimum score of 500/170 (paper/computer based), or an IELTS test score of minimum 5.0.
