| Programme description | Project Management is a type of competence which is in great demand in private companies, as well as in public administration. Most firms and public companies today choose to perform most of their non-standard tasks in projects, and people who can manage this plethora of large and small projects are in great demand. The Master of Science degree in Project Management educates managers who can be part of, and (with more experience) lead such projects. The degree consists of nine courses of 7.5 ECTS each; a large (22.5 ECTS) project in the third semester and the master thesis in the fourth semester (30 ECTS). The master thesis is usually done in co-operation with a company to provide a realistic setting. The degree program is meant for students with a technical background (Bachelor of Engineering) and preferably with some work experience. The degree should be useful for people who intend to work in project environments, particularly within research and consulting and in industries who usually work with projects, such as civil engineering. NTNU co-operates with six other European partners in order to create possibilities for exchange, and encourages students to take at least one semester abroad as part of their masters degree. |
