Programme description	Product and system complexity is increasing. Many technical products and systems are combinations of software, electronics and mechanical components. Also, the interactions between technical systems and the economical/ social systems of our global society are becoming tighter and more inter-dependent, thus further complicating the picture. In order to attain the desired RAMS characteristics of a product or system, structured approaches are necessary to quantitatively predict RAMS product/ system performance to decide whether the performance is as good as desired or not, and systematically identify and remove undesirable /untolerable RAMS characteristics.

Nokut certification	No (What is this?) NOKUT (Norwegian Agency for Quality Assurance in Education) NOKUT is an independent state body whose purpose is to safeguard and develop the quality of Norwegian higher educational institutions. This is done through evaluation, accreditation and recognition of quality systems, institutions and study programmes. Only courses that are accredited or recognised by NOKUT, or are accredited as a result of the institution's blanket accreditation, have the right to be called "higher education". Formal prerequisites	Academic requirements: BSc/ BEng preferably within Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Civil Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, Electronic Engineering or Electric Power Engineering. Candidates with a BSc/BEng in other engineering disciplines may also be considered for admission. Courses within Mathematics, Probability Theory and Statistics must be covered within the BSc/ BEng degree. ; English requirements: International applicants should document either a TOEFL test with a mimum paper score of 500 (170 computer based test) or better, or an IELTS test score of minimum 5.0 or better.
