| Programme description |
Molde University College - Specialized University in Logistics, started a new MSc program in Team Sport Management in mid August 2011. By establising this new program, HiMolde complemented its regular bachelor's program in Sport Management held in Norwegian (not open to international applicants), and the international MSc program in Event Management that startet in 2010.
The MSc program in Team Sport Management is of 2 years duration (120 ECTS credits, 4 semesters), and consists of 75 credits course work, and a master's thesis of 45 credits. Students should preferably take their master's thesis in close collaboration with a sport club or other sport organisation. The MSc program is following the European model of team sports, where football is of special interest, since it is the largest commercialized team sport in Europe. However, the program also includes other team sports, like e.g. Hockey, Team Handball, Basketball, Volleyball and Rugby. The curriculum includes courses within; Students are introduced to academic disciplines like economics, psychology, law sociology, history, governance and management as they relate to team sports. The main aim of the program is to give graduates who plan to work in the sport industry a better understanding of the dynamics and developments of team sports. Graduates qualify for a large range of management positions within sport or event organisations. The program also qualifies the best graduates to apply for admission to relevant PhD programs both in Norway and in other countries. The study plan will be revised and updated for the academic year 2012/2013, during the spring semester 2012. Admission to the MSc program in Team Sport Management usually takes place only every second year. However, HiMolde is also offering this program for admission in 2012. 1 April 2012 (Extended application deadline from 1 February 2012): International applicants with foreign education applying directly from abroad, and all applicants who are having a temporary residence permit in Norway.
1 April 2012: Last postal date for submitting documentation to meet the English language requirements (TOEFL/ IELTS tests). Relevant only for applicants who are required to meet the formal English requirement, and who are not formally exempted from this requirement. 15 April 2012: Applicants with Norwegian educational background, who at the time of application already are either Norwegian citizens or who have obtained a permanent (not temporary) residence permit in Norway. This group of applicants are applying by using "sĂžknadsweb" in FS on our home page. Applicants should preferably hold a recognised first degree (BBA, BA, BSc), equivalent to a minimum of 180 ECTS credits, in Sport Management/ Sciences, Business Administration, Social Sciences (Economy, Sociology, Political Science or History) or other relevant academic disciplines to apply for the MSc program in Team Sport Management.
For detailed information about the English language requirements for admission (IELTS: Minimum of 6.0) or TOEFL: Minimum of 550 paper based test/ 213 computer based test/ 79 internet based test, and the possibilities for exemption for some groups of applicants, particulary applicants from some of the African countries, please see the information at our English home page; www.himolde.no. HiMolde does not have a separate TOEFL code. IELTS/TOEFL scores should therefore be sent directly from the test centre to our postal address mentioned on the application form. Admission to our international master's programs is highly competitive, and applicants should preferably have completed their bachelor's degree with an average grade of Excellent or Very Good, or at least a minimum average grade of Good/grade C or equivalent (Like First Class or Second Class Upper Division or equivalent grades). Applicants with only a HND (Higher National Diploma) or similar Diploma Education are not eligible to apply for admission to our international MSc programs. Qualified female applicants are encouraged to apply for admission. |
| Tuition | No tuition fees. Both Norwegian and international students only pay a minor semester fee of approximately NOK 620 at the beginning of each semester. International applicants with Individual Funding who are citizens of countries not belonging to EU/EEA/EFTA, and where a visa is required to enter Norway and Schengen, must first document a minimum of NOK 90 800 per academic year to cover for their own living expenses in the first academic year of the MSc program with their applications for admission, and before they are admitted to the MSc program in Team Sport Management. If later admitted to the MSc program, these applicants will be requested to transfer a minimum of NOK 90 800 to our Deposit Account for International Students within a deadline stated in the letter of admission, approximately around mid May/ beginning of June 2012, and in good time before the admitted student arrive in Norway to start the MSc program. More detailed information about the Deposit Account for International Students will be given only to admitted international students together with their letter of admission. |

Molde University College, Specialized University in Logistics, does not have the administrative capacity to answer requests over email, post or phone related to the "status of applications" sent by international applicants before the admission to the MSc programme in Team Sport Management has been finalized. All the applicants will first receive a written letter with the result of their applications as soon as the admission has been finalized, and we have had time to send the letters of admission or the rejection letters to all the applicants. HiMolde does only accept formal applications with all the required documents sent by post. We do not accept, or consider scanned application forms/ documents sent as attachment to email. Molde University College - Specialized University in Logistics, is not collaborating with any international agent, concultancy in student recruitement. All international applicants must therefore apply individually and directly to our specialized university, by not using agents. Applications that despite of this information are forwarded to us from agents/ concultancies abroad can therefore be rejected. |
