Programme description The master“s programme will give you a deep insight in, and an overview of the discipline biology. Within the Master“s Programme in Biology, you can choose among the following specialisations:

  • Biodiversity, Evolution and Ecology
  • Microbiology
  • Cell and Developmental Biology

Depending on the specialisation you choose, the programme will give you an extensive introduction to ecology, evolution or systematic research that covers themes ranging from the biology of single organisms to bio-geographical patterns, in-depth insight into microscopic organisms: viruses, bacteria, fungi, single-cell algae and protozoa, insight and overview of the subject areas of cell and developmental biology based on a physiological and anatomical approach or a deeper insight in the field of physiology and its application within research, industry, teaching and management. You will also receive training in conducting an independent scientific study.
