Applied Computer and Information Technology (MSc)

The Master’s programme in Applied Computer and Information Technology (ACIT) offers an expert-level education in the design, development, use and maintenance of computer technology, electronics and software in areas of great importance for modern societies.This programme offers specializations stemming from the overlap of three fields of research: Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Mathematical Modelling.Each field represents an area where the application of software, data, computers and electronics has become necessary for the modern society, yet challenging to do in practice. These areas are wide enough to allow for life-long careers as technology progresses.
Application deadline

1 March ( early admission ) / 15 April for applicants from the European Union / European Economic Area (EU/EEA) and Switzerland. Applications accepted from 1 January.

Formal prerequisites

When applying for admission to the programme, you must choose either the specialisation course Universal Design of ICT, Cloud-based Services and Operations or Mathematical Modelling and Scientific Computing.

Admission to Universal Design of ICT requires:• BSc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Informatics, or• BSc in Information technology or equivalent program, which at least 80 ECTS (45 % of three full academic years) within the field of computer science.

Admission to Cloud-based Services and Operations requires:• BSc in Computer science, Computer Engineering or Informatics, or• BSc in Information technology or other equivalent qualifications, which at least 80 ECTS (45 % of three full academic years) within the field of computer science, or• BSc in Electrical Engineering with at least 10 ECTS (17 % of one full academic year) of programming

Admission to Mathematical Modelling and Scientific Computing requires:• BSc in Computer Engineering with at least 40 ECTS (67 % of one full academic year) of mathematics, or• BSc in Electrical Engineering with at least 40 ECTS of mathematics, or• BSc in Chemical Engineering with at least 40 ECTS of mathematics, or• BSc in Mechanical Engineering with at least 40 ECTS of mathematics, or• BSc in Computer Science or Informatics with at least 40 ECTS of mathematics, or• BSc in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics, or• BSc in Physics, or• BSc in Statistics

All specialisation courses require:• An average grade no lower than C according to the ECTS grading scale• Proof of English proficiency
