Biotechnology

Biotechnology is the use of biological processes, cells, organisms or cellular components for production of knowledge, goods and services. Important products are biofuels, enzymes, antibiotics. New and advanced methods of analysis make it possible to study biological reactions and systems better than just a few years ago. The Master of science programme in Biotechnology is aimed towards the scientific research with focus on cell- and molecular biology, biochemistry and microbiology and possible applications of these processes. The focus on renewable raw materials, exploration of waste products and sustainability make Biotechnology to an important industry in coming years.
