Business Administration

Do you wish to work in banking, finance or insurance? Or is perhaps the transport, consultancy, telecommunications or energy sector more tempting? The MSc in Business Administration is one of the most multifaceted programmes internationally, leading to extensive career opportunities within the private and public sectors.   You will learn how to tackle questions such as: How to target the desired audience? Whom to collaborate with and how do I set up a successful organisation? Depending on your specialisation you will furthermore get an insight into how innovation processes work in the economy and how they are perceived by society.   The Business School at the University of Stavanger has close contact with the Norwegian business sector, which in the Stavanger region also has extensive international relations. The UiS Business School plays an active role in research both internationally and regionally. Our students are very active and cooperate with a number of companies and organisations in the Stavanger business community.   The programme offers two specialist areas: Strategy and Management Business Innovation

Nordic and EU applicants with a Bachelor's degree outside of Norway: March 1

Local applicants with a Bachelor's degree from Norway: April 15

Formal prerequisites

A Bachelor's degree within Business Administration, Finance, Economics or equivalent is required.

The degree must include minimum 90 ECTS credits in the following subjects:

  • Business Economics (accounting, investment analysis etc.)
  • Administrative Sciences (marketing, organisation and leadership, business strategy etc.)
  • Economics (macroeconomics, microeconomics etc.)
  • Methodology (mathematics, statistics, research methods etc.)

The subjects within the fields of business economics and methodology must be equal to minimum 30 ECTS credits. The methodology subjects must include both mathematics and statistics.

NB! GMAT/GRE will be required for admission to this programme from the academic year 2018/2019.
