Master's Programme in Mechatronics

The study programme is only open for EU/EEA applicants.

Would you like to learn more about mechanical systems involving control of heavy forces? Then you will probably enjoy the Master's Programme in Mechatronics. A master’s degree in mechatronics will make you eligible for more interesting and challenging tasks in industry and business than with a bachelor's degree alone.

What do you learn?

The Master's Programme in Mechatronics addresses integration of mechanical engineering, instrumentation engineering, hydraulic and electric drive and industrial IT. You learn to use your knowledge about the interactions between these disciplines working with design and manufacture of products and processes.

Entry requirements

The academic basis is a completed and passed three-year Bachelor’s programme in Engineering, based on the National Curriculum, within the fields of mechatronics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or renewable energy. For applicants with a background in renewable energy, the academic basis must include at least 5 credits in electric circuits and 5 credits in automatic control engineering. Furthermore, the following requirements, that partly go beyond the requirements of the National Curriculum, have to be met:

  • At least 25 credits in relevant mathematics
  • At least 5 credits in statistics
  • At least 7,5 credits in physics

The requirement that there be a relevant basis in mathematics is satisfied through mathematics equivalent to obligatory mathematics and the elective course Mathematics 3 within UiA’s engineering programmes.

Applicants with an equivalent education within technology and science, and who meet the requirements above, may also be admitted to the programme.
