Multimedia and Educational Technology, Master's Programme

The emphasis in the programme is on knowledge of existing and new technology, new tools and new methods for dissemination of knowledge through the use of modern educational technology. A good command of English is required.

This programme is open for applicants from EU/EEA only.

What do you learn?

The teaching will reflect the wide range of branches you can work in after graduation, ranging from the development of E-learning material for traditional school and university education, training of employees in offshore firms and other specialist firms, and as an employee in companies using E-learning and educational technologies. The programme focuses on educational technology, and all topics are helping to underpin the knowledge necessary to develop good E-learning modules and topics.

Entry requirements

The academic basis for the programme is one of the following alternatives:

  • Completed and passed bachelor’s programme in Multimediatechnology and design or equivalent education
  • Completed and passed bachelor’s programme in Engineering or another technical education which includes programming and 3D – modelling or technical drawing.
  • Completed and passed teacher education with additional education: Technology for teachers in the primary education, supplementary programme, or equivalent.

At least 10 credits of programming must be included in the basis for admission.

The following alternatives are approved as completed teacher education: four- or five-year teacher education, three-year vocational teacher education and the postgraduate certificate in education combined with a completed bachelor’s or master’s degree.

The grades in the bachelor diploma must have an average of C or better according to the ECTS grading scale. For more details see admission requirements on the programme's webpage.

  • Nordic citizens and applicants with a permanent or renewable residence permit in Norway: From 15 January till 15 April.
