Petroleum Geosciences Engineering

Geosciences and engineering are of daily importance in order to meet our society's demands. The search for energy, mitigating climate change, and developing relevant technology to improve the well-being of people around the world are challenges that professionals need to be prepared to confront. The University of Stavanger is at the forefront of petroleum engineering and geosciences education. The MSc programme in Petroleum Geosciences Engineering, which is developed in close collaboration with the petroleum industry, is uniquely focused on the blending of geosciences and engineering for the specific needs of petroleum exploration and production.   A graduate of this program will be qualified for a broad range of positions within the petroleum industry and other industries where both engineering and geosciences are applied.

Formal prerequisites

A Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Geology or equivalent is required.

All applicants must have at least 30 ECTS credits in mathematics/statistics/calculus.

An equivalent degree must be within the geology and/or engineering field and must include at least 40 ECTS credits in geosciences/geology/geophysics
