The race is on for finding the best energy solutions. With a master’s degree you are in a better position for meeting the new requirements for change and competence on the job market. The energy sector is facing large challenges and investment needs. You can be part of realizing the vision of an energy neutral Europe. Our study programme is internationally oriented and students can participate on ongoing research projects.

What do you learn?

The competitive edge of this programme is the wide range of topics combined with your opportunities for specialization. The master’s programme gives you a broad introduction to the most important forms of renewable energy on a global basis. You learn to

  • Evaluate, develop, deploy and control new fossil free technology both in existing and new energy systems and applications
  • Design, model and simulate electrical and electromechanical components and systems, especially motors and motor drives for various applications within production, automation and offshore equipment
  • Do project work in groups, solve advanced research problems and the use of English as a working language

Formal prerequisites

A BSc in Mechatronics, Mechanical engineering, Electrical engineering or Renewable energy engineering or the equivalent degree is required, with a GPA equal to C or better, within the Norwegian grading system. Applicants must have passed MA209 Mathematics 3 or the equivalent, with 5 ECTS credits minimum.

  • Nordic citizens and applicants with a permanent or renewable residence permit in Norway: From 15 January till 15 April.
