However, current risk analysis and governance practice suffer from severe weaknesses and there is an urgent need for improvements. New ideas and perspectives on risk analysis and governance are required. This study program highlights such ideas and perspectives, and aims at contributing to strengthen the scientific basis for the risk field and science, including relevant safety and security issues.   MSc in Risk Analysis and Governance builds on concepts and ideas developed by the Society for Risk Analysis over the last 40 years. ‘Risk Analysis’ is used in a broad sense to include assessment, characterisation, perception, communication, management and policy relating to risk.
