The Master’s Degree Programme in Structural Engineering and Building Technology provides in-depth study and specialisation in the field of structural engineering and building technology.Structural engineering concerns the analysis, calculation and design of load-bearing structures and structural systems. Building technology concerns the analysis, calculation and design of the body of the building, includingfaçade and building envelopes.To design new buildings and structures for the future, engineering expertise at master’s degree level in the fields of building technology and structural engineering, as well as in-depth knowledge about climate and environmental issues relating to the field, is needed.More about aims and contents.The master’s degree programme is aimed at candidates with at least a three-year bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, who want a solid professional and academic supplement to their education in the field of building technology and structural engineering
Application deadline

1 March ( early admission ) / 15 April for applicants from the European Union / European Economic Area (EU/EEA) and Switzerland. Applications accepted from 1 January.

Formal prerequisites

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering or marine engineering, with a grade point average of C or better. Including:

  • 25 ECTS credits in mathematics (42 % of one full academic year)
  • 20 ECTS credits in mechanics, statics or other courses in the field of structural engineering (33 % of one full academic year)
  • 7.5 ECTS credits in physics, solid mechanics, building physics and/or thermodynamics (12,5 % of one full academic year)
  • 5 ECTS credits in statistics (8 % of one full academic year)

Proof of English proficiency is also required.
