What are the main reasons for choosing Norway as your study destination?

I chose Norway because of its spectacular nature, the outdoor activities, the good educational institution (NHH is ranked well in the specific rankings for business Schools), and the reputation from friends who did the exchange before me.

Where did you study and why did you choose this institution?

I studied at NHH in Bergen because this university is the best business school in Norway and has a close educational relation with the university of Mannheim which is my home university.

What was your idea about Norway before you arrived and did you find the impression to be true?

When I thought about Norway, I thought about the spectacular nature, gender equality, good work/life balance, and that it would be expensive to live and study there. All my impressions were highly supported. Also my idea about the good educational system turned out to be correct.

Compared to your country, what are the main differences when it comes to student life in Norway?

The main differences compared to Germany are the following: The classes are smaller and more interactive, the students have to participate permanently, and you get more time in the exams: 4 hour in Norway compared with at max. 90min. in Germany.

What is the most important academic outcome of your time as a student in Norway?

It all depends on the teacher and his ability to motivate you.

Are there any personal experiences as a student in Norway you would highlight?

The friendly, welcoming and very nice student colleagues I had in Norway made my stay extraordinary.

Would you recommend studying in Norway to students at your home university? Why/why not?

Yes, because it is a good addition to the studies at Mannheim and gives you different perspectives on academia.

What are you doing now and what are your plans for the future?

I am writing my Master thesis and will finish my studies in December. Then I start working for an international strategy consulting Company.
