What are the main reasons for choosing Norway as your study destination?

In Norway children go to school when they are very young (1 year), in the Netherlands the children go to school when they are 4 or 5 years old. And in Norway they do a lot of outdoor activities. I want to learn how they do this with the young children so I can apply this in my work at home.

Where do you study?

De Haagse Hogeschool in the Netherlands, where I'm studying to be a teacher, and now doing an exchange to Bergen university college.

What was your idea about Norway before you arrived?

I had actually no idea what Norway was like, but I really love it here! Everybody is so nice and helpful! Also the city center of Berger is beautiful. I feel really at home here.

What is the most important academic outcome of your time as a student in Norway?

I hope to learn more about outdoor education and how I can apply that on my own class in the Netherlands.

Are there any personal experiences as a student in Norway you would highlight?

It is just amazing how many new people you meet, and how many friends you make in just a short time!

Would you recommend studying in Norway to students at your home university?

I really would recommend it! I have only been here for almost two months now and I have already learned so much! Not only at school but also from the people I have met.

What are you doing now and what are your plans for the future?

I hope I can finish this minor successfully and my studies in the Netherlands next year. After that I hope I can work at a school in the Netherlands and do a lot of outdoor activities with the kids. And I know that I always will look back at the time I had here with a smile on my face.
