Could you tell us the main reasons for choosing Norway as your study destination?

“Before I began my study in Norway, I was an exchange student in Sweden for two years. I love the Nordic countries and wanted to stay longer. Also, I got a scholarship from the department at NTNU.”

Why did you choose the institution you are at?

“NTNU is the best technology university in Norway. NTNU has the best matching subject for me.”

What was your idea about Norway before you arrived?

“I thought of Norway as a very beautiful country with fjords and lots of amazing natural views. And that Norway is a rich country with both natural resources and advanced technology.”

Which are the main differences from your country when it comes to your life as a student?

“I think there is more freedom in Norway. Students have more flexibility in their studies.”

In your opinion, what is the most important academic outcome as an international student in Norway?

“To find an ideal job will be the most important academic outcome, I think. Also, to learn the systematic and scientific way of thinking and solving problems is also an important outcome, which will contribute to the future career and life.”

Are there any personal experiences as a foreign student in Norway you would highlight?

“I found the local Norwegian students are normally shy and it is not so easy for international students to be involved”

What would you tell students from your country about university life in Norway?

“My university life is quite busy and challenging.”

What do you miss the most when you are away from your country?

"What I miss the most is various vegetables, fruits and special cooking ingredients from China. The prices are very high in Norway. The limited food and cooking ingredient selection is not so easy to get used to at the beginning but I really love cod and salmon and I am used to Norwegian food."

In your opinion, what is the most important outcome of being an international student?

"The most important outcome is to achieve the diploma successfully."

What are you doing now?

"I am in the last year of the master study."

What are your future plans?

"I am currently trying to find job in Norway. I hope I can stay longer in Norway."
