Music Production and Recording - Graduate studies
The Music Production and Recording programme emphasizes the
recording of acoustic music, with a focus on jazz and classical,
and provides practical opportunities for advanced students to
improve their audio education and experience.
The programme is a unique education for people with special
interests in music production, recording and audio technology.
Throughout the study you have a variety of practical
opportunities. You will learn about different techniques for
recording music at concerts and in the studio. The practical
arenas are diverse and the faculty has established good
collaborations with partners such as Stavanger Concert Hall,
Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, Stavanger Jazz Forum and
others.
The programme is especially aimed at maturing audio engineer and
musicians with different bachgrounds and experiences. The
programme utilizes is divided between individual mentoring, group
work and practical exercises.
During the study you will gain experience with best practices
with different music genres music productions styles.
The programme has an international profile and is limited to 12
qualified students.
Entry requirements
In order to be admitted to Music Production and Recording
programme (60 ECTS) a completed Bachelor Degree in Music
Performance, Sound Technology, Multimedia or similar fields
(minimum 180 ECTS) is required. Proficiency in English on an
advanced level is required and must be documented.
Applicants must also document music and sound experience of
maximum 15 minutes, no older than 12 months.
